The message we put forth in our marketing, promotional and educational activities is that by following a healthful vegan diet, one can prevent or reverse most health problems. At our luncheon and dinner seminars we present the fact that John McDougall, M.D. in his medical programs, and Joel Fuhrman, M.D. in his private practice, reverse most health problems in a short period of time (ten days to a few months) simply by helping people change to a healthful vegan diet. Reverse means to eliminate, not manage or control. A person who has diabetes, would, under a typical medical doctor's care, take oral diabetic drugs or insulin to "manage" or "control" his/her health problem. In many cases this would eventually lead to having toes, feet and legs amputated, loss of vision, kidney failure and an early death. Following Dr. McDougall's program one can literally eliminate that condition and one can become healthy in as little as ten days.
That the major health problems most people (one out of three) face in this country, and are taking medication for, diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol, leading to strokes, heart attacks, and premature death can be reversed quickly and easily by simple changes in diet is an amazingly important message. Unfortunately, most people never get that message from their doctors or any governmental agency. Not only do Doctors McDougall and Fuhrman reverse and also prevent health problems (obviously the same diet that can reverse these health problems, can also prevent them), but also in their extensive research studies, along with T. Colin Campbell in his landmark study and recently released book, "The China Study", scientifically prove that all health problems including cancer, can be prevented with a healthful vegan diet.
Our message is clear and to the point: There is no confusion about attaining good health. The truth is obvious. It is found in the work and writings of John McDougall, M.D., Joel Fuhrman, M.D. and Colin Campbell, PhD. Any dietitian, government employee, nutritionist or doctor who says otherwise is deliberately not telling the truth. That means that approximately two trillion dollars spent on health care every year in the United States are wasted, billions of dollars spent on so called medical research (animal research primarily) are wasted, trips to and costs of medical doctors are wasted, costs of prescription drugs are wasted, and all of the untold suffering from cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, arthritis, Alzheimers, lupus, fibromyalgia, etc., etc. is unnecessary. To make matters even worse, it turns out that if everyone in the world were to follow a healthy vegan diet, most environmental destruction would be nonexistent (and that is another subject in itself). It becomes very clear to anyone who follows a healthful vegan diet that one's senses become very acute when dietary change occurs. One's sense of smell, vision and hearing become more acute. At the same time, one becomes more conscious of the world, of his or her surroundings and of life itself. As one becomes more aware and more conscious, violence and war do not appear to be the proper path to resolve issues.
A healthful vegan diet is the foundation for good health, both personal and planetary. But that is just the foundation for good health.
